Gina Rodriguez was spotted walking with her newborn in Los Angeles, California, for the first time since the birth of her first child on Saturday afternoon.
While enjoying a leisurely stroll, the 38-year-old Jane the Virgin star wore a white baby harness strapped to her stomach, keeping her newborn close by.
The first mother held her little one’s back tightly and could be seen staring at her baby, whom she kept wrapped under a white blanket with farm animals embroidered on it.
For her laid-back outing, the Golden Globe winner wore a black t-shirt, leggings, a pair of Nike sneakers, glasses and her wavy brunette locks in a low ponytail.
She and husband Joe Locicero have not publicly announced the arrival of their baby, whose gender and name remain unknown.
Rodriguez, who first announced she was expecting on her 38th birthday in July, was last seen with her baby bump on Jan. 25.
“This birthday is different,” she captioned a video of her holding a positive pregnancy test.
Gina’s announcement video began with a sweet photo of herself and Joe kissing while out in nature with their dogs, followed by a clip of them cuddling and nose-to-nose in the great outdoors with a snow-capped mountain in the distance.
Gina is best known for playing the title role in the critically acclaimed CW series Jane The Virgin from 2014–2019.
It was in 2016 that the two met on set and in 2018 she revealed that they were engaged. The lovebirds got married in 2019.
Joe has tried several professions including acting and modeling and he has even worked as an MMA fighter.
In January 2016, Gina confessed on The Ellen DeGeneres show that her time with Jane The Virgin had caused her baby fever.
“I feel like they’re bringing the baby [playing her son] to me and my ovaries are like, “Ahhhh, come here baby!”‘ she joked to the host.
At the time, she said she was considering adoption to avoid the “whole process” that comes with pregnancy.
‘I want one. So bad. I do, but I don’t want the whole process,” she admitted. “I just want one to arrive like the stork talk, right?”
Elsewhere in their chat, she joked that she never had to work with crying babies because a new baby actor would be traded in when the one she was holding started crying.
She starred as the title character in Jane The Virgin, a woman who accidentally gets the wrong procedure at her gynecologist’s office, where she is artificially inseminated.
She initially cannot believe she could be pregnant as she is a virgin, and even after accepting the big change in her life, she still has to navigate her relationship with her old boyfriend and the biological father of her child.
The show was a hit with critics and earned Gina a 2015 Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Television Series Comedy or Musical.
